Dermal Filler Dissolving

At our aesthetic clinic, we specialise in dermal filler dissolving and correction, offering expert care from experienced practitioners. We understand how upsetting it can be when dermal filler results are imperfect or complications arise, and we're here to help.

The most commonly used dermal fillers today are made of hyaluronic acid, which is dissolvable. Popular brands include Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Stylage, Alexin, and Belotero. These fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which works over 1-2 weeks. There are several reasons why you might want or need your filler dissolved:

  • Overfilled areas
  • Filler migration (movement to unintended areas)
  • Lumps or uneven results
  • Asymmetry
  • Allergic reactions causing swelling
  • Late reactions, such as swelling or lumps, particularly in the tear trough area, even months after treatment
  • Infections near the treated area, leading to immune responses, swelling, or tender lumps

The Dermal Filler Dissolving Process

Consultation

Our clinicians will assess the treated areas, discuss your concerns, and explain the procedure, potential risks, and the next steps following dissolving.

Patch Test

To minimise the risk of an allergic reaction to hyaluronidase, we conduct a patch test by injecting a small amount of the enzyme into your arm. You'll need to wait 30 minutes at the clinic to check for any reaction, such as swelling, redness, or a rash.

Numbing Cream

A numbing cream will be applied to the areas needing treatment around 15-20 minutes before the injection to ensure your comfort.

Hyaluronidase Injection

The enzyme is injected into the problematic areas to dissolve the filler.

Aftercare Advice

Avoid touching or applying makeup to the treated areas for at least 6 hours to prevent infection.

Any swelling can be managed with antihistamines.

Bruising can be reduced by using Arnica cream or tablets.

Pricing

The starting price for dermal filler dissolving is £250 per vial.
